RepNaijaArtist’s personal interview with orezi
So much has been said about him and he has also been described in many ways. He surprised everyone with his rendition on the song “fever”. Before we could gather our dropping jaw, he hits us with the smooth, suave and sultry hit track and video “H. B.P.”. We proudly present “OREZI”. Enjoy this expository interview with Seyi Arogundade of Repnaijaartists.
Why the name OREZI?
Well it is not a nickname, that is my real name and it has a longer pronunciation. The name is native to delta state.
Tell us about yourself?
I was born in the 80’s and to a family of five presently. I attended command secondary school here in Lagos before I proceeded to university of Lagos where I bagged a degree in urban and region planning in the year 2008. I have a lovely and supportive family
A little dig into your music career?
I dint grow up singing in the church like most artist do, I got inspired by a friend. I never thought I was going to do music at the early stage of my life, was challenged like I said earlier by a friend. I started out as a rapper before I got my niche in the industry.
Who are your biggest male music influence in the country and internationally?
Well! In the country it’s definitely “2 face”, internationally “usher” is my man.
Where do you see yourself in the next five years?
In the next five years I see my music going international and should probably be married then {laughs}
How do you relax?
Simply watching movies
How did you balance education and music career when you were in the university?
I must confess it wasn’t easy at all! having to finish up an assignment or project and at the same time attend classes, but really God has being my strength all the way.
Your relationship status?
Single and not searching.
When should we be expecting your album?
Definitely this year.
What were your parents reaction when they knew you wanted to go into music?
It wasn’t easy at first but when they saw my level of commitment and hard work they pledged me their full support.
If you were not doing music what would you be doing?
Definitely making money from my area of specialization which is urban and regional planning

The track “H.B.P.” is one of my favourite track can you tell us about it?
Are u serious?{smiles} well H.B.P. was released in 2009, the video shoot was in south Africa, it got a lot of airplay local and internationally including MTV base and all
Advise for upcoming artist?
Just want them to believe that dreams come true

The best is yet to come and they should keep believing in me.
You have a good manager how is your working relationship with him?
Like you know, he is terry g’s former manager and he’s really a good person to work with
